Red Samurai WIP

Here are some shots from a short I'm working on. Since college I've been redesigning a red samurai with a fiery sword every couple of years. This year I'm animating it. It's still pretty far off, but should be done this week.

This is a redesign of a character I did shortly after college. I always really liked it, and thought it could use a bit of a face-lift.

Just a quick piece today. Wanted to do something with an odd perspective, involving a bit of motion.

Old Woodland Fairy

Got a little further on this design. Still not quite done yet, but it's getting there. The idea for this character is that he's a very aged forest spirit. His wings are all tattered, and he is the colour of autumn approaching winter.

Sketching with Ink & Paint

I've started sketching with ink (no pencil). I've found I'm getting far more interesting work now that I have to dive right in, and that I'm unable to erase or undo. Did a bit of painting today too. Haven't done that in years, but it's something I've been meaning to get into.

Off to Ireland

I'm going to be in London, Ireland and Belgium for the next two weeks gathering design reference for a project that I've been production designing. I'm going to try and squeeze a bit of fun in too..
